Motorola asked us to design a digital experience to relaunch its iconic razr phone in an unexpected and memorable way.
We created a hybrid web and mobile app experience that guided press and VIPs through a rich and immersive virtual event.
After punching in their ticket code, guests were placed at the concession stand where a bartender showed them how to make a mocktail using ingredients received in a mailer ahead of the event.
With drinks in hand, the razr was unveiled through a short fashion film starring Julia Garner.
The film ended on a dynamic animated page where guests could explore all of the razr's cutting-edge features.
But the night wasn’t over yet. We built a site for the after-party, consisting of five different rooms where guests could dive deeper into the film and unlock exclusive content, from cast interviews to fashion photos, to Instagram filters, and more.
We developed the first-ever virtual event that utilizes mobile VR technology to take guests beyond the bounds of their computer screens.
The site synced up to a mobile app so that guests could move from room-to room on the site, while immersing themselves entirely into each new experience using their razr.
P.L. created six augmented reality filters which were uncovered in the event's After Party, allowing guests to instantly share their experience on Instagram.
The experience wowed influencers and press alike and garnered 649 million total consumer impressions, 3.95 million social impressions, 205K social engagements.
“As fashion, beauty and lifestyle companies look for innovative new ways to adapt their “event” strategies in 2020 and beyond, interactive virtual events like this one are a fun and creative way to connect with press, influencers and consumers alike.”
