In 2020, Miranda July was releasing her latest feature film, Kajillionaire. She and Focus Features came to us with the task to create a completely virtual movie premiere, drumming up excitement for the film while also using technology as an advantage to bring together audiences from around the world.

We collaborated with July to design a unique and authentic site experience that would showcase her past work leading up to the premiere.

When the lights went dark, July welcomed guests and the film was streamed across desktops, phones, and home theaters in a secure & seamless manner.

Afterward, we hosted a live Q&A with actress Natasha Lyonne moderating a conversation with July and the film’s stars, Evan Rachel Wood and Gina Rodriguez.

The premiere brought together more than 1,000 people. Puppy Love helped create something special alongside July’s film - a re-envisioning of the way we experience movie premieres and a moment of joy and intimacy in an incredibly isolating year.
